Wintery Mountaintop Wedding at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort

If you're looking for a one of a kind wedding venue high up in the Columbia Mountains, the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort should be at the top of your list! As Golden, BC wedding photographers, we love the stunning Eagle Eye Restaurant, mountain top views and sublime sunsets you get at the top of the gondola. Don't forget to look for Boo the Grizzly bear in his enclosure while riding the gondola!

Preparing for the Big Day

As their Kicking Horse Resort wedding photographers, we spend the entire day with J & K, starting with getting ready photos. Surrounded by family and their closest friends, J & K got ready in a rental apartment at the base of the resort.

First Look and Couples Photos

J & K wanted to have a much time with their guests as possible after the ceremony so we suggested that they do their first look and couples photos before the ceremony. With partly cloudy skies and mountains that have yet to shed their winter coats, we had the perfect lighting and background for some incredible couples photos!

Amazing Summit Wedding Ceremony at Kicking Horse Resort

With a draw-dropping background, the ceremony site at the Kicking Horse Resort must have one of the most stunning views in the Columbia Mountains. With views of the Rocky Mountains to the East and the Selkirks to the West, this is a mountain-lover's vantage point. We were taken aback by the laughter and emotion of the crowd during the ceremony, and even though we've seen hundreds of wedding ceremonies as wedding photographers, this was one we won't soon forget.

Reception and Sunset Photos

After the ceremony and family photos were completed, we headed inside the Golden Eagle Restaurant for a night of gourmet dining and celebrations. With 270 degrees of windows, the restaurant is the perfect place to observe the setting sun. We were sure to take J & K outside for some sunset photos after speeches were over.
