As landscape photographers and Lake Louise wedding photographers, the area around Moraine Lake, Lake Louise and Peyto Lake holds a special place in our hearts. This is undoubtedly the most easily accessed and most spectacular part of the Canadian Rockies! When A & J hired us to photograph their wedding at the Lake Louise Ski Resort we were excited to craft one of a kind photos for their big day.
Getting Ready at the Lake Louise Inn
We arrived in Lake Louise amidst a heavy downpour, but in typical Rockies fashion, the rain didn't hold for long. We were happy to spend a bit of time indoors taking getting ready photos of A & J surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Couples Photos at Peyto Lake, Bow Lake and Moraine Lake
After a brief first look on the bridge overlooking the Lake Louise Inn we drove to Peyto Lake. Despite the drizzle, the lake and mountains looked fantastic in their foggy veil. We then drove the short distance to Bow Lake, where we took photos along the shore and the small wooden bridge. The overcast conditions provided us with perfect soft light for portraits.
The ski resort provided everyone with lift tickets so we took advantage and went up for couples and family photos.
The following day we met up for sunset photos at Moraine Lake. The weather was much better and we were treated to a fantastic sunset and a clear star-filled sky for milky way photos. These were some of our favourite wedding photos ever, despite them being extremely challenging to capture due to the difficulties of taking photos in the dark and balancing the brightness of the lamps with the milky way.
The Ceremony at Lake Louise Ski Resort
The ceremony took place on one of the covered balconies overlooking the ski slopes. The ring bearer was very bear-like which everyone got a laugh out of! We loved how much laughter and joy we saw during the ceremony, it was very heartwarming.
Reception at the Lake Louise Ski Resort
The reception was held in an elegant and cozy room at the side of the resort. String lights and warm wood tones created an intimate vibe which only improved as the sun set. We loved photographing A & J's wedding, it was filled with so much love and joy!
