We're both easy-going and we like to keep our couples photo sessions completely laid-back and fun, feeling more like a hangout with friends than a rigid shoot. We skip the stiff poses entirely and use playful, movement-based prompts to capture your genuine, candid moments naturally.

What is your editing style?

We believe in a vibrant, clean editing style that keeps colours true-to-life and accurate to the conditions you experienced on your day. We don’t follow passing internet trends or use heavy filters, ensuring your photos look timeless and stand the test of time. Every image is edited by Alex, with classic black and white shots thoughtfully included where they best suit your story.

We want those epic landscape shots, but we also want genuine moments. What is your approach to posing?

Accepted Answer

For about 90% of your wedding day, we stay completely in the background to document real, unscripted candid moments as they happen. When it is time for your couples portraits, we step in with playful, movement-based directions rather than frozen, unnatural poses. We use fun prompts to keep you moving and interacting naturally, all while using our landscape photography prowess to frame the gorgeous mountain landscape around you.

Do you edit every photo?

Yes, absolutely. We personally curate and hand-edit every single photo you receive to ensure it meets our high standards for colour correction, cropping and levelling, and  removing any distracting elements. We also add a hint of our fine-art landscape editing secret sauce to make your couples photos worthy of framing on your wall.

Is it normal to need two photographers, and what are the perks of having a husband-and-wife duo?

Having two photographers gives you two distinct creative angles throughout your day especially during key moments of your ceremony and reception. We're able to capture more candid moments of you and your guests simultaneously. As a husband-wife team, we work together seamlessly, intuitively understanding each other’s process and approach to photographing your day. This collaboration is something you won’t find with photographers who hire second shooters.

Can we see of a full wedding gallery?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely, and we highly encourage it! While highlight reels and curated portfolio galleries are great, seeing a full gallery shows you exactly how we handle real-world lighting, from bright sunny days to dim indoor receptions. Just mention it when you get in touch, and we will happily share a few complete galleries from local venues.

How did you get started in wedding photography?

Alex started out as a fine-art landscape photographer with a deep passion for exploring the Canadian Rockies backcountry. Once we moved to Canmore he decided to take these skills and offer couples a unique landscape and adventurous take on wedding and elopement photos.

We love a good love story - how did you meet?

Accepted Answer

We met at a hostel in Peru while Alex was on a mountaineering trip and Cat was backpacking after university. I spontaneously invited Cat to climb a 5,700-meter peak the next day; we made it to the summit but lost the trail on the descent, forcing us to spend a freezing night shivering inside a tiny mountain cave. We survived the night, fell in love, and have been tackling adventures together ever since.

We love documenting your love story at any milestone! While weddings and adventurous elopements are our primary focus, you can book us for secret mountain proposals, engagement sessions, anniversary trips, or family portraits throughout the Bow Valley.
