I was thrilled when Cody and Jessica asked me to be their Canmore elopement photographer during the most colourful time of the year in the Canadian Rockies! The magnificent fall colours were on full display in the Rockies, and the larch trees at their prime, with bright hues of yellow and orange! Even their wedding ceremony venue, A Bear and Bison Inn in Canmore, was full of bright fall colours!

An Intimate Elopement at A Bear and Bison Inn
Cody and Jessica's elopement at A Bear and Bison Inn was officiated by Dr. Cheryl Cooper and witnessed by myself and my wife so it was a really intimate elopement. You could see their excitement and happiness when the time came to exchange rings and have their first kiss. As a Canmore elopement photographer I get to see my fair share of ring exchanges and first kisses but I have to say that this one was particularly emotional for everyone in attendance.
The Bear and Bison Inn can be a great venue for larger weddings as well

The Perfect Time of Year for Fall Colours in Your Wedding Photos
Fall is certainly a magical time of the year for your Canmore elopement photography because it's the time of the year when the colours start coming out! There's nothing that I love more this time of year than seeing a bit of colour highlighting the rugged peaks of the Canadian Rockies. After the ceremony we got in the car and travelled to a few locations in Canmore that would be perfect for showcasing the Fall colours. As a local Canmore elopement photographer I know a few great spots in Canmore for seeing golden Larch trees and we were sure to stop there.

Managing Cold Weather during Your Canmore Elopement Photography
With the changing colours comes colder weather and shorter days this time of year, and managing the cold weather can be a challenge during elopement ceremonies and couples photos. As a Canmore elopement photographer I'm well versed in the use of blankets and hot tea to keep my couples warm during these chilly times. Frequent trips to the car also help, as does travelling between several locations while keeping shooting time down to a minimum at each spot. With a few tweaks and strategies your Canmore elopement photography in Fall doesn't have to be an unpleasant experience! Cody and Jessica handled the cold weather like it was no big deal, armed with a good blanket and lots of warm embraces. It was such a pleasure to be their Canmore elopement photographer and help them capture these amazing memories in one of the most beautiful places in Canada!
