As a Banff wedding photographer I normally spend most of my time shooting in the Banff and Canmore area, but this wedding started off with a trip to Ghost Lake and a (mysterious) mansion that the bride and groom had rented on Airbnb. It was honestly one of the most amazing homes I've ever seen and it felt like it was straight out of a movie. After exploring the many rooms, taking photos in the library, grand entrance and bedrooms we headed off to Tunnel Mountain Reservoir for the wedding ceremony.

Getting Ready at a Huge AirBnB Mansion
This mansion is definitely the coolest location I've ever taken getting-ready photos at during my time as a Banff wedding photographer. Normally brides and grooms get ready in a hotel room but Juleigh and Jordan did their research and determined that they could rent this entire mansion for their wedding party and family for a reasonable cost on AirBnB. Located near Ghost Lake in Cochrane, this mansion had it all, from an indoor swimming pool to a grand library with fake books and spiral staircase, to a beautiful entrance foyer with twin staircases. We used the entrance for showing off the dresses and for the father-daughter first look. After taking plenty of unique photos at this mansion we drove to Banff for their wedding ceremony at Tunnel Mountain. I wonder how many Banff wedding photographers have had a chance to see and photograph at this unique mansion? It was definitely a cool experience and a beautiful place to start their wedding day.

A Beautiful DIY Wedding Ceremony at Tunnel Mountain
I've seen many beautiful weddings at Tunnel Mountain as a Banff wedding photographer, but this one stuck in my mind because of how everyone came together to make this DIY wedding special. For example, the chairs were made by one of the groomsmen who was a carpenter and other members of the wedding party helped make the altar and various other decorations. Have a look at some of the pictures below to get an idea of how much time and creativity went into these wedding details. It was so nice to see everyone contributing to make Juleigh and Jordan's wedding a success! The ceremony itself went without a hitch and I'm really happy with how the images turned out. The cloudy sky resulted in beautiful light and a bit of rain that morning made the cliffs pop. This was definitely one of the most unique wedding ceremonies I've had the pleasure of photographing as a Banff wedding photographer at Tunnel Mountain!
Tunnel Mountain is one of my favourite wedding ceremony venues, rain or shine!

A Tour of the Best Banff Wedding Photography Locations
After the ceremony, everyone jumped into a Ford Transit that the bride and groom decorated with a "Just Married" sign on the back window. We drove to Cascade Mountain and Vermillion Pond for some couples photos and wedding party photos. The wedding had a country theme and everyone was wearing cowboy boots including the bride and bridesmaids. We had a really fun time at these locations with everyone having a lot of energy and wanting to help get the best possible photos for Juleigh and Jordan's big day! With beers in hand, they jumped, ran and posed however I instructed them, but it was always fun and casual. What a fun day it was for everyone, myself included. I'm so thankful that Juleigh and Jordan chose me to be their Banff wedding photographer and I had the chance to experience such a unique celebration of love on their wedding day.
