Adventure elopement photography in Banff National Park is so fun to be a part of and to capture! Being an avid hiker and climber, I love showing couples my favourite photography spots on their wedding day. Taryn and Sean eloped along the rocky shores of Lake Minnewanka with just their Banff elopement photographers as their witnesses. It was a beautiful ceremony filled with laughter, tears and heartwarming vows. Afterwards, we hiked up Ha Ling for some sunset photos - what a great way to close their first day as a married couple!

A Beautiful Start to this Banff Adventure Elopement at Lake Minnewanka
I was super excited when Taryn and Sean contact me to be their adventure elopement photographer in Banff because I love hiking to beautiful locations for couples photos! I caught up with them at Lake Minnewanka to capture their ceremony on the shore of the lake on a sunny day in August. They decided to elope just the two of them (with us as their witnesses) and then have a reception with family and friends back home. The wedding ceremony was very emotional, with heartfelt vows, tears and plenty of smiles! After the ceremony was completed we all explored the shore of Lake Minnewanka for couples photos. As an adventure elopement photographer in Banff, I shoot a lot of elopements at Lake Minnewanka but I always discover new spots and views to work with which is what I love so much about this location!
Adventure Elopement Photographers Love Hiking Up Mountains!
How can you get the most exciting and unique elopement photos in Banff? Take your adventure elopement photographer for a hike and explore the majestic mountain top views that Banff and Canmore are known for! Taryn and Sean packed all of their wedding attire into backpacks and we began our uphill hike towards the summit of Ha Link Peak in Canmore, a popular hiking destination. The trail was recently improved and is now a moderate hike which takes about 2 hours for a reasonably fit individual. Once we reached the top they changed back into their wedding attire and we began taking photos as the sun drifted down towards the horizon. There are so many interesting things to see up there and the photo opportunities are endless. Scroll down to see Taryn and Sean's beautiful adventure elopement photography from Ha Ling Peak.

Catching Sunset for Some Amazing Hiking Elopement Photography
Sunset is one of the best times for hiking elopement photography in Banff National Park but you have to be adequately prepared with headlamps, warm clothing, water and food for the hike back down (possibly in the dark). We all love the beautiful warm directional light that makes the mountains come to life during sunset and the blue hour that follows shortly thereafter. It's the most wonderful time of day to take elopement photos in the mountains and as a hiking elopement photographer in Banff I always recommend trying to schedule your elopement ceremony for the afternoon! Taryn and Sean's sunset elopement photos ended a bit earlier than dark so we were able to get back down well before it was hard to see. If you love the outdoors and planning to elope in Banff, why not have an amazing hiking elopement with your photographer in tow?
